The National Football Foundation-Central Indiana Chapter is proud to announce the winners of

their annual Scholar Athlete Award competition. This event is now in its 18th year of recognizing

the top football players from 144 high schools throughout Central Indiana who also have

demonstrated outstanding work in the classroom and in the community.

This event is made possible by the support of Indianapolis Colts’ owner Jim Irsay and the Irsay

Foundation, the Indianapolis Colts, and Wilson.

These winners will be honored February 25th at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center. In

addition to the Scholar Athlete Award winners, the NFF Central Indiana Chapter will be honoring

an IHSAA football player for their annual Terry Courage Award, named after former IU football

player Terry Cole, and former Indiana head football coach Terry Hoeppner. The chapter also

recognizes one member of the Indiana football community for their lifetime of service to the

game in this state. That award is the Distinguished American Award.

This year's recipients are as follows:

(Triton Central), Hank Spencer (North Putnam), Corey Smith (Perry Meridian), Justin Sanders

(Pike), Brandon Ritter (Southport), Tsali Lough (Terre Haute South), Casey Miller (Speedway),

Kyle Kamman (Columbus North), Logan Haston (Avon), Zach Gorge (Fishers), Connor

high school's valedictorians, and four players who reached the state finals during their high

school careers. Past winners include former and current NFL players Rosevelt Colvin, Brandon

Gorin, and AJ Edds.

Masters of Ceremonies for this event will include Greg Rakestraw of HomeTown Sports Indiana,

and Dick Rea of WTHR/Methodist Sports Medicine. Jane Hoeppner will also be on hand to

present the award named in her husband's honor.

Tickets are available for $40 for an individual, or $300 for a table of eight. All proceeds go to

benefit the National Football Foundation's Central Indiana Chapter. Select winners will receive

Northeast Indiana Skills Camp

The website is up and taking online registrations. Printable form will be up in the next day or  2.

I will be making some small changes and adjusting/setting the combine times.

We have dropped the price of skills camp to $80 and Lineman Camp to $60. If you collect the registrations and send them to me as a team you can take $10 off of the price for each of your campers if you have more than $10 come from your school.

Please share this with any coach you are friends with in order to make sure that we get all of Northeast Indiana covered.

If you worked last year, please confirm for you and your assistants if you will be back in 2011.

If you want to work this year, please let me know and I will get a waiting list started.

Many of the more successful teams in the area have had the most amount of kids at camp. Snider, Homestead, Leo, New Haven, and Northside have all had over 10 campers a year for the last 5 years.
