Postseason WNIT First Round Tips Off Tonight
 
March 14, 2012 – First-round action of the Postseason WNIT begins tonight with two games. Colorado (18-13) hosts Northern Colorado (20-11) at 9 p.m. ET and Cal Poly (17-14) takes on Washington (17-13) at 10 p.m. ET. The majority of Round 1 games will be played Thursday night with 23 games and will conclude on Friday with 7 games. The WNIT is celebrating its 15th season and has selected one of its most competitive fields in tournament history featuring 36 teams with 20 or more wins this season.

For the second straight year, the WNIT and CBS Sports Network are partnering to televise two games during the tournament. The championship and one semifinal game will be televised live. The semifinal game will start at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday, March 28. The championship game will be played on Saturday, March 31, beginning at 3 p.m. ET.

The Postseason WNIT is owned and produced by Fort Collins, Colo.-based Triple Crown Sports, which also organizes men’s and women’s college basketball tournaments in Cancun, and the Preseason WNIT. Triple Crown is the leader in grassroots sports and manages over 300 amateur sporting events across the country in volleyball, fastpitch, baseball, and basketball.
