Super Bowl Weekend at Fieldhouse

Super Ball Invitational Includes Hoosier Tradition on Friday, February 3

 

Indiana high school basketball will become part of the biggest weekend in the history of Indiana.

 

Compton Strategies announced today that the Super Ball Invitational will be Friday, February 3 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The three-game set will feature teams with rich Hoosier folklore on the hardwood. The lineup includes:

 

·         5:30 p.m. A girls game between unbeaten and No. 2A fourth-ranked Triton Central vs. Eastern Hancock.

·         7 p.m. – A boys game featuring defending 4A champion Bloomington South and Conference Indiana rival Columbus North.

·         8:30 p.m. – A boys game matching 3A No. 1 ranked Muncie Central and Logansport.

 

Tickets are $10 for adults and students and may be purchased at the athletic departments of the high schools. Tickets can also be purchased for $12 at the ticket office at Bankers Life Fieldhouse or at Ticketmaster locations.

 

Fans will be able to use the Virginia Avenue garage for parking.

Welcome David West

PACERS SIGN VETERAN FREE AGENT DAVID WEST

            INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Pacers announced Tuesday they have signed veteran free agent and two-time NBA All-Star David West to a contract. Per club policy terms of the contract were not released.

 

            West, 6-9, 240, is an eight-year veteran who had played his entire NBA career with the New Orleans Hornets. He has career averages of 16.4 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game.

 

              “It’s great for the Indiana Pacers to have a class, quality person that David is join our team,” said Pacers President of Basketball Operations Larry Bird. “We know what he has accomplished on the court, but it’s the other intangibles he brings that will make us stronger off the court as well as on the court.”

 

             “This is a great opportunity and I’m looking forward to finding my role with this team,” said West, who played collegiately at Xavier, earning two national player of the year awards as a senior. “”I feel I can add to this group and once I find my place, I’ll help this ballclub the best I can.”

 

               West played in two All-Star games in 2008 and ’09. Those two seasons, he averaged 20.6 ppg and 8.9 rpg and 21 ppg and 8.5 rpg, respectively.
